Adding regular text to the homepage

I was looking to add regular text and an image to the whitespace on the homepage.

How can this be done?

    Hi

    Let me clear  the area of home page on which would you want to add custom text .

    And  For this you need to change into the core theme file .

    So firstly I would like to suggest you to create child theme .

    I am not sure what you mean by clear the area... I just need to add some text in between the slider and the footer.

    Please help me in accomplishing this.

    Hi 

    For this follow the given below instruction . 

    1 Create 1  home.php  and  2 index-text.php file in your child theme directory .

    2 Replace copy the code from home.txt and index-text.txt (Which is given below in the attachment ).

    3 And past the code respective file . 

    Now Edit the index-text.php file and change content as your need  .



    Hope I made my point clear .
